Supervision and Consultation Services
Our therapists are licensed as Clinical Psychologists, Licensed Professional Counselors, or Licensed Clinical Social Workers and specialize in the provision of Trauma-Informed Therapy. A select group of our clinicians are qualified and skilled at providing specialized, trauma-informed clinical supervision and/or consultation services to other mental health professionals.
Each of these supervisors has their own areas of specialization and can provide focused clinical supervision or consultation for a variety of presenting problems. Supervision here is built the same way our therapy is: around the relationship. We pay attention to what happens between supervisor and supervisee, because the patterns that surface there are usually the ones that matter in the room with your clients.
What we offer
Individual supervision
One-to-one supervision for pre-licensed clinicians accruing hours toward full licensure. Sessions follow your caseload: case formulation, the therapeutic relationship, transference and countertransference, pacing trauma work, and the moments where you feel stuck. Meetings are typically weekly or every other week, set with your supervisor.
Group supervision
A small, consistent group of clinicians meeting with one supervisor. Group supervision adds something individual work cannot: hearing how colleagues think, presenting a case to more than one set of eyes, and noticing the parallel process that plays out in the group itself. Groups form as interest and schedules allow.
Consultation for licensed clinicians
Focused consultation for therapists who are already licensed and want a second mind on difficult work, whether that is a single case or an ongoing arrangement. Complex trauma, developmental trauma, and dissociative disorders are the areas we are asked about most, and each supervisor brings their own further specializations.
Who it is for
Supervision is for Licensed Social Workers (LSW) working toward the LCSW and Licensed Associate Professional Counselors (LAPC) working toward the LPC in Pennsylvania, whether you practice here or elsewhere. Consultation is for fully licensed clinicians: LCSWs, LPCs, and psychologists who want trauma-informed, relationally grounded input on their work. We also run a formal in-house training program for the LSW and LAPC clinicians on our own team, which combines weekly individual supervision, weekly group supervision, and didactic seminars.
Who provides it
Supervision at Turning Leaf is led by Dr. Alison Tripptree, our Director of Supervision, who oversees training for our early-career clinicians. Clinical supervisors on the team include Tara Bailey, LCSW, a certified relational psychoanalyst whose supervision centers on complex trauma and dissociative disorders; Anne Miller-Uueda, LCSW, who supervises LSWs pursuing the LCSW; Dr. Katelyn Vala; and Dr. John Machalaba, our Director of Clinical Services. Not every clinician here supervises. The ones who do have chosen it as a specialty.
Format and fees
Individual supervision and consultation are scheduled directly with the supervisor, in person at 123 Chestnut Street, Suite 304, or by secure video. Group supervision meets on a regular schedule agreed by the group. Fees are set by the individual supervisor and confirmed before your first meeting, so there is nothing to work out afterward.

Do you take practicum or internship students?
Not at this time. We are not currently offering clinical placements for practicums or internships. Supervision here is for clinicians who already hold a Pennsylvania license or associate license, and consultation is for clinicians who are fully licensed.
