How coverage works with UHC

We accept all United Healthcare plans for individual therapy, including UHC through employer-sponsored plans. UHC behavioral health benefits may be administered through Optum; either way, you are covered here. No referral is required for outpatient therapy, and telehealth is covered at parity for Pennsylvania residents.

What you will typically pay

A copay is a flat fee per session, typically $15 to $50 with UHC, after your deductible is met. Some plans use coinsurance instead, a percentage of the session cost. Your deductible is the amount you pay out of pocket each year before your plan begins paying; many plans waive it for outpatient mental health. One call to UHC member services settles which applies to you.

United Healthcare and Optum

If your card mentions Optum, your behavioral health benefits are administered by Optum Behavioral Health, which we also accept, including EAP referrals. The coverage works the same way from your side: a copay or coinsurance after any deductible.
