Whether a recent event has brought you here or you’ve been carrying something difficult for a long time, therapy can be a space to slow down and give it the attention it deserves. Together, we’ll explore what feels most important to you, at your pace.
I work with adults navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, identity questions, difficult family dynamics, and substance use. Whatever you’re carrying, you’re welcome here. This includes adult children of immigrants, people from multicultural backgrounds, and people of color. As a South Asian daughter of immigrants, questions of belonging, obligation, and identity are ones I’ve navigated myself.
The ways we’ve learned to move through the world and keep ourselves safe tend to stay with us, often in ways we don’t recognize. That can be where the work begins, and where a better sense of belonging starts to become possible.
Central to that process is the therapeutic relationship, which I build on safety and trust. This creates a space to better understand what you want and need, apart from others’ expectations. My approach is relational and trauma-informed, and I bring warmth and levity into the room. I draw on IFS to help make sense of different parts of you that can feel in conflict, ACT to reconnect with what actually matters to you, and Motivational Interviewing for when you’re unsure about change.
Before joining private practice, I worked in university counseling settings and with immigrant and refugee communities. That work deepened my understanding of how trauma and systemic inequity shape a person’s inner life, and reinforced social justice as foundational to my clinical work.
I am a Licensed Social Worker working toward my LCSW. I’m glad you’re taking this step, and I look forward to meeting you.
