Making the decision to begin therapy and allow yourself to be vulnerable is not easy. It takes courage, trust, and a willingness to explore parts of yourself that may feel painful or uncertain. Many of us who choose to begin this journey are unsure if we should open up or if it is even “worth it” to share our pain. My therapeutic approach focuses on establishing a sense of safety before anything else. From there, we work collaboratively to tailor therapy to your unique needs as an individual. Regardless of which approaches I may pull from (CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.), my work is informed by intersectionality, a strengths-based perspective, and a relational psychodynamic lens. I believe we are shaped by our past experiences, our relationships, and the environments we are a part of. Therapy can offer the space to explore these patterns with curiosity and compassion. I also recognize that our experiences don’t exist in a vacuum. Race, culture, identity, and broader societal structures all leave their mark on who we are—shaping our sense of self, our relational patterns, and the ways we’ve learned to cope or simply survive. As an Asian American and queer clinician, these are themes I hold close in my own life as well as in my work, and I am able to work with Mandarin-speaking individuals. That context matters, and it’s always part of the conversation. This is a space where you can show up as you are, without feeling judged or shamed. I’m warm and strive to provide a validating experience, but I also provide gentle challenges when it’ll help you grow. The relationship we build together is something I take seriously, and my goal is for you to feel truly seen and supported throughout the process. I have experience working with individuals struggling with anxiety, depression, PTSD, interpersonal difficulties, body image concerns, and a broad range of other presenting issues. Whatever brings you here, you do not have to face it alone. I would be honored to walk alongside you through this process whenever you feel ready to reach out.
