Therapy begins with creating a safe and welcoming space in which I can get to know my clients as people. I believe in working collaboratively with them to explore their challenges and difficulties, as well as their joys and successes.
My approach to therapy is primarily relational and psychodynamic. I believe that exploring past and current relationships and experiences can be helpful in addressing current challenges. However, I also integrate elements of body focused mindfulness into my practice. I believe that every individual client is unique, and that no single approach will be universally effective. Because of this I shape my approach to each client’s comfort and needs. My work is deeply grounded in intersectional understandings of identity. I believe that each client’s uniquely intersecting experience of privilege and oppression form an essential context for their wellbeing.
I specialize in working with trauma, anxiety, depression, body image, family trauma, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I have experience working with survivors of sexual violence, interpersonal violence, and child abuse. I also enjoy working with athletes around the intersection of their mental health, performance goals, and the overall role sports play in their lives.
